A couple friends came over for a visit and we all ended up sitting around, talking about fried chicken. I developed a strong

business) Manhattan establishment. This 48th street restaurant was the spot to be apres theater. Champagne and hos d'oeuvres was pre-performance fuel , but the hungry, weight conscious avoided temptation to over indulge post- performance with this light low-cal repast.

The Whole Foods cashier scanned then put what looked like a curve ball spin on the perfectly ripe avocado I selected and
would soon own. I lunged for the fruit but my bagger, Omar, sensing my fear, was faster. He gently scooped it up and held it to his heart. “In my country, Morocco, we love avocados! We drink them for breakfast. It’s called avocado juice.”
