Cooking Philosophy:

"A recipe," Eden explained, "Is only a license for invention. Just like life." From Laura Kalpakian's book What to Bring to An American Picnic says it all for me, as it might for any cook.

Favorite Things I Like to Cook:

Anything and everything. I love "stealing" recipes from restaurants and recreating them at home to see how "close" I can get. I also will tinker with a recipe to make it healthier without turning it into spa-blah cuisine.

Favorite Foods:

Rare fillet minion on wilted kale, chard or spinach. Sushi and ice cold sake. Dried Calimyrna figs macerated overnight in the best red wine I can afford. Beignets made by someone else. Coffee concentrate and a vanilla Atkins shake.
