- Cooking Philosophy:
Cooking is a way to reconnect with our food and I believe in knowing where my food comes from, how it was grown and distributed; I want to feel the farmer's touch upon my meal.
- Favorite Things I Like to Cook:
I like to cook country-western style. Growing up around the campfire, I swilled cowboy coffee and mastered Dutch oven cooking. As a mother of three grown kiddos, I rustled up plenty of healthy, tasty meals on a budget. As a marketing manager for a thriving Minnesota natural food cooperative I learned about alternative choices, organic crops and the importance of local food systems. Today I am a food writer in the Minneapolis area, exploring where our fresh food comes from and why it is important to connect to our food roots. This cowgirl readily embraces her own heritage and loves to learn from others no matter what part of the wide-world they grew up. My recipes reflect my down-home heritage sprinkled with my sense of adventure.
- Favorite Foods:
Well, what time of year is it? St. Patrick's day is on the horizon! I will be getting my brisket this weekend to begin the brining process. I'll post so others can join in on the fun.
